Sculpture Theft in Billericay

Child in the Park

 

In February 2017 the 'Child in the Park' sculpture by artist John Doubleday was stolen from Lake Meadows Park in Billericay. The heavy bronze artwork is believed to have been melted down by metal thieves. The sculpture depicted a child surrounded by animals living in the park and was installed as a Millennium project in 2001.
